We had a special guest today. In celebration of this, we are not going to have any homework tonight. Take a break, breathe. We'll move on to Islam and Chapter Six soon enough. Dan Carlin has an amazing podcast available for free on iTunes. It's called Dan Carlin's hardcore History, and the episodes about the Death Throes of the Republic are incredible. If so, read this. By the way, the History Guide is a great resource for intellectual history matters - mostly much later in our course.
The Encyclopedia Britannica site has vast amounts of mostly objective information on many (nearly all) topics. Their treatment of Hinduism is informative (and long). Be careful searching for information on religions - bias is often inescapable.
Here is site that discusses the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path and other aspects of Buddhism. Check out the Table of Contents and you will find information about Daoism and Greek philosophies. This site keeps everything short and sweet, some sites on religion and philosophy can get overly involved. |
