Your awesome colleague, Roelyne Reyes, has done all of your work for you lazy savages!! Check this out. Maybe in the future, others can contribute and y'all can have a wonderful resource for
Netflix has a great new documentary series on the Middle East, from Mesopotamia up to World War One. In particular, the last two episodes on the Ottoman Empire might be worth watching over the break.
PBS made a great documentary about Martin Luther a few years back. The companion site is here. If you want to watch the documentary, it is called Empires: Martin Luther and it can be streamed on Netflix. This is a good time to view part of National Geographic's Guns, Germs and Steel. This is a short series (available on Netflix) based on the groundbreaking work by Jared Diamond. I have mentioned the book several times. This link to the PBS is worth taking a look at. The book is a good read, if a little overly technical in places. If you're interested in reading it, you can buy it here. I also have a copy if you want to (carefully and lovingly) borrow it. This article actually talks about the extermination of pagan practices in the Baltic states. It's a little obscure, but it is in the news and it is a Post-Classical topic. LiveScience has an article about what may have happened to the cuneiform writing system. Sometimes it makes sense to read articles like this because it's a good way to refresh your memory about the Foundations period. Hopefully you are starting to figure out that AP World History is a constant process of review - it's the only way that you will be able to come up with evidence for the essay questions! |
